Jefferson excited to sign

Rondae Jefferson is signing with Arizona on Thursday. Read on for his thoughts on getting it done, his future as a Wildcat, and much more.

The Arizona coaching staff has brought in a dizzying amount of high-level recruits the past few years. Sean Miller has signed more five-star prospects during the last two years than during any other two-year period in Arizona recruiting history.

Some of the recruits are from traditional UA recruiting turfs like Southern California but, unlike the Olson era, Miller is consistently mining the northeast for five-star prospects.

Chester (Pa.) small forward Rondae Jefferson is the latest recruit from the northeast.

"I love Arizona," Jefferson said. "It's a long way from home, but I feel completely comfortable with everything at the program. The coaches are great. They've been really cool and have consistently told me how much they look forward to coaching me.

"I was looking for an environment like that. There were places closer to home that I also liked, but Arizona just had everything that I was looking for."

In addition, Jefferson believes that Arizona is set up to have success in the future.

"We're going to be really good for the next few years," he said. "Coach Miller and his coaches have recruited a lot of really good players and everyone seems to get along well."

Coach Miller has a specific plan to utilize Jefferson's skills.

"They say that I do the little things really well," Jefferson said. "They like how hard I play defense and that I'm always trying to get others involved. They see me fitting in really well with the rest of the players."

Since committing to Arizona, Jefferson hasn't wavered on his commitment.

"They've shown me a lot of love," Jefferson said. "I appreciate how they recruited me. Once I got down there for a visit I knew I wanted to become a Wildcat, and I'm looking forward to signing my letter of intent Thursday."
